What is Albumin?

Albumin is a protein made by the liver. Albumin exists both in the circulatory system and in tissues such as muscle and skin. Albumin may be ordered as an infusion by a physician for situations including shocks, burns, liver failure and hemorrhage.

Can patients who are Jehovah's Witnesses accept albumin?

Jehovah's Witnesses consider albumin to be a minor blood fraction, so this is a product about which each person would need to make his own decision.
